Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

ShipReady is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what little we do handle, why, and your rights over it.

What we collect

Almost nothing. Your checklist state — which items you've checked, your notes, your selected stack — is stored entirely in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device, never reaches our servers, and is not tied to any account (because there are no accounts).

If you use the "Share link" feature, your checklist state is encoded into the URL itself. Anyone you share that link with can read it — don't put secrets in your notes.

Cookies

We use cookies only for two purposes:

  • Advertising. If and when Google AdSense is enabled, AdSense sets cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google's Ads Settings, or by declining our cookie consent banner.
  • Theme preference. A single cookie (or localStorage entry) remembers whether you prefer light, dark, or system theme.

We do not use analytics cookies. We do not track you across other sites. We do not sell any data — there is no data to sell.

Third parties

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California), you have the right to access, export, and delete any personal data a service holds about you. Because ShipReady holds no personal data about you, these rights are effectively pre-fulfilled: there is nothing to access, export, or delete on our end. To clear your local checklist state, use your browser's "clear site data" or click "Reset progress" in the tool.

Children's privacy

ShipReady is a developer tool and not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page.
